Man charged with firearms and cannabis offences after 16-hour West Bromwich siege

A man has been charged with drug and firearm offences after a 16-hour siege in West Bromwich.

Noel Foley, 53, was arrested from a flat in Birmingham Road on Monday afternoon after an overnight stand-off with armed police.
He has been charged with two counts of possessing a firearm, threatening behaviour, having an imitation firearm, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.
Neighbouring flats were evacuated as armed officers surrounded the flat opposite the Esso garage in Birmingham Road.
Police were first called shortly after 10pm on Sunday and Foley was not arrested until around 2pm on Monday.
Birmingham Road was closed between Beeches Road and Bagnall Street during the incident.
Foley, of Birmingham Road, was due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
